Jealousy

Maybe jealousy is a strong word and one that has a lot of label attached to it,
maybe we can substitute jealousy for that mind which believes it is higher than
the other and uses its 'upper hand" so to say to keep controlling the situation
or the jealousy or non movement or non joining ? Maybe they will never join u in
your journey and it will be your work to transform the word jealousy into
another softer one ?

Even if the Buddha himself were present in person, there would be
nothing he could do to guide a jealous person. A mind tainted with
jealousy cannot see anything good in others. Being unable to see
anything good in them, it cannot give rise to even the faintest
glimmer of faith. Without faith one can receive neither compassion nor
blessings.

Devadatta and Sunaksatra were the Buddha's cousins. Both were
tormented by jealousy and refused to have the slightest faith in him. Even as
budda did and offered only good and teachings to others,
Although they spent their entire lives in his company,
 he could not
transform their minds at all.
His cousins continued to hold the good helpings to thy neighbors as if it were
evil....because they could not feel part of or included in and spawn more
jealousy ?

Moreover, even when evil thoughts about others do not materialize as
actual physical harm, they still create prodigious negative effects
for the person who has the thought. Can the word jealousy soften in this knowing
to something beyond it, for you"
