For ego, all of the joy and happiness it has tasted this lifetime is a result of wanting something. If wanting comes to an end, ego’s mind cannot imagine that there is going to be any happiness, joy, or bliss. The egoic mind cannot comprehend it. But actually, the state of absolute freedom is the absence of all wanting; it is the state of wanting nothing.
