I read this statement as one directed at the people of the whole and while I don't like to EVER point or categorize of speak in theys and mes or us's, I have come across to read
"Out identity, our sense of self, is at stake, secularity is a way of being dependant on the responses of our millieu"
This means that stepping away from beliefs, religious in nature allow us to be in whatever the moving times are showing and be part of that, however why would one want to be grounded in the moving times of the moment and not the ancient threads of the spirit and soul whose religion, can assist to unfold?
Hmmmm
