kmg prayer 2013

Sometimes .
A thought that begins to raise
I put up an umbrella
 on all the stories
That pour down like rain
Upon my silence

Where do they come from
Are they distractions keeping
Me from a union with the greater good
That's in  the silence

Thomas keating taught that prayer is not speaking, its waiting for the muddle pool of water to settle just enough for the sentiment to sink
And the reflection of light to be able....

While waiting for this settling
I open my eyes and see the sunlight shine on the buildings, the birds, the steeple, clouds, planes, steam from the buildings...

Dear lord,
Grant us we pray
(Give us this day the gift to enter into prayer which comes forth in the silence from my lips through you)

To be grounded and settled in your truth
(That you be my umbrella today
that I carry nothing but open arms as you rain down on the just and the unjust)

In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, bless all I touch today and fill them with your love, use me an an instrument for all to be in your prescence....

Amen
