Isn’t it true that this mind here thinks a lot? It remembers, it plans, it thinks, it worries. It has been doing so for countless lifetimes, day and night, without stop. Moment by moment, this mind is creating thoughts of one thing after another, and not just during this lifetime. Thinking takes place because of not seeing the essence of this mind itself. It thinks of something, makes thoughts and emotions about it — the process goes on and on. It is like beads on an endless string, life after life in an endless succession.
In retreat the agreement is made to release thoughts not speak of me my grand life my story my sufferings which next week will change and change again as sands in the hourglass of life
