Our happiness seems to depend on how we respond to insecurities that besiege us. In the end, there are only two ways to deal with them: either we grasp for idols or we live by faith. When we grasp for idols, they turn on us and dominate our lives. To live by faith is to abandon ourselves to the Ultimate Reality which surrounds and penetrates us and which alone satisfies us.
