Poem

Before you know  what kindness really is you must lose things,
Feel the future dissolve in a moment like salt in a weakened broth. What you
held in your hand what you counted and carefully saved, all this must go so you
know how desolate  the landscape can be between the regions of kindness. How you
ride the ride thinking the bus will never stop and the passengers eating maize
and chicken will stare out the window forever....

Before you learn the tender gravity of kindness  you must travel where the
indian in a white pancho lies dead by the side of the road, you must see how
this could be you, how too, he  was someone
Who journeyed  through the night
With plans
And  the simple breathe that kept him alive.

Before you know kindness
As the deepest thing inside
You must know sorrow as the
Other deepest thing
You must wake up with sorrow
You must speak to it til your voice catches the thread of all sorrows
And you see the size of the cloth

Then it is only kindness that makes sense anymore
Only kindness that ties your shoes
And send you into the day
To mail the letters
And purchase bread
Only kindness that raises its head
From  the crowd of the world to say
It is I you have been looking for
And then goes with you everywhere like a shadow or a friend

Bible Study

Acts Chapter 2

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

We all come from the same place, and sometimes we sound different. Can we have compassion to recognize this in eachother

Prayer

Light-  the candle
It opens my heart
As I prepare for sunrise
The eyes of jesus stare into mine
And I soften to the beauty of the mystery all around me, I breathe in this
softness and it fulls me with silence

I float away on the clouds of unknowing, held between time
that has its own path

Take me on your path
Lead me on your way
I am but a vessel for goodness
Fill me with light so I can be your city set on a hill....
Your lamp that can not be hidden
Your heaven on earth

Thy will, let me be baptized  with and share that healing power within me with
all you touch thru me

Prayer

Dear god,
Thank you for all the hard work you remind me it takes to keep the gifts we are
bestowed

And as I silence to the beauty of this new  day, in good health, surrounded by
the gift of you working through me

Remind me to to grateful and give today to all those who don't have a home today
to fix, remind me who we keep warm and warm my heart into you......

Sadness plays its notes , fills the room in concerto of quiet acceptance and
rains on compassion into the well of
Everlasting waters......

poem by kmg

My existence is more than this moment,
 and its nothing in time

My tears are so full they draw from the very bottom
of where they are created
and cause an emptying so vast nothing
 but myself
can fill it,
 and who am I,
surely more than I do,
 or see or know,

I float away on the seconds of eternity,

seen only to myself, fingers, touch
,distance evades me, silence, screams,
not close enough to catch what lowliness
my lips taste.
