Hazrat Inayat Khan

Riding on the Horse of hope

Holding in my hand the rein of courage

Clad in the armor of patience

and the helmut of endurance on my head

I started on my journey to the land of love

A lance of stern faith in my hand

and the sword of firm conviction buckled on

with the knapsack of sincerity

and the shield of earnestness

I advanced on the path of love

My ears closed to the disturbing noise of the world

My eyes turned from all that was calling me on the way

my heart beating the rhythm of my ever-rising aspiration

And my blazing soul guiding me on the path

I made my way through the space

I went through the thick forest of perpetual desire

I crossed the running rivers of longing

I passed through the desert of silent suffering

I climbed the sheep hills of continual strife

Feeling ever some presence in the airm I asked "are you there my love?"

and a voice came to my ears, saying;" No, still further I am"
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.”

Dinner Prayer

Lord
Behold our family here assembled
We thank three for this place in which we dwell
For the lov that united us
For the peace accorded us this day
For the hope for tommorow
For the health
The work
The food
And the bright skiesThat make our life delightful
For our friends in all parts of the earth
And our friendly helpers in this foreign land
Let peace about in our small community
Purge out of every heart the lurking grudge
Give us grace and strength to forbear and to persevere
Give us courage, gaiety and the quiet mind

Poem i Wrote

I wake
love is chiding me
For my mind wants one things to see
But love, its inside me

In love, its beauty, its all around me
I live in love, its besides me
small hearts beating in the bed
i lie close, feel the sweat we shed

My friends, already texting me
I share my love
So they reach out to me

I wake
Love is all around me
Cause I am love
just look through me

So all illusion
try suffering me
i might get caught
i train
so I can let it be

Cause all there is
and all i have

its just LOVE
thats whats inside of me

RUMI translated by Coleman Barks 1994

This being human is a guest-house

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,

some momentary awareness comes

as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,

who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture,

still, treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,

meet them at the door laughing,

and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,

because each guest has been sent

as a guide from beyond.

The Soul Flaw

By; Rabbi Zalman Schachter

Every soul, truly a part of gods holy perfection, is possessed of a flaw.

This flaw, like the fire of an opal, is also that souls special charm and attraction.
The difference between the fire and the flaw is only in the refraction of the light.
What we consider the persons flaw can become a vice and that very same trait in a different light can become a virtue.
The souls main task is to work on and with the flaw...

One of the most crucial issues in the examination of ones conscience is the search for the awareness of the one basic flaw-glory

The flaw and glory are two sides of the same configuration of the soul.

It takes great vigilance to learn to move the flaw to the right light where the glory in it shows..

The areas of success are unfortunately not the areas of the test of life.
The flaw is multi- leveled so that when one manages to control its behavior it will show itself again in attitude and in the transfer of energy..
given that it becomes controlled in attitude,
it will show itself on the feeling plane
and once controlled there it will manifest
on the plane of thought
